To Friday I offer this message, which popped up in my inbox from one R. Guha this fine AM. The original inspiration of the image is a typo, but the message is loud-n-clear. Remove your hats this instant! Don't make me come over there and softly tap you on the shoulder and then when you remove your one headphone to see what the heck I want, to tell you again, politely in person!...There are two readings that I am involved with coming up in the following week. This one is TOMORROW, Saturday, 9/24, and it is a part of 100tpc.org, the ambitious, simultaneous, global-scale reading for social change. The lineup, which I curated with Steven Karl, is SO stellar! I will be on hand to host, and as a rowdie group of poets, we will be able to hang out in the wonderful LaunchPad afterwards so come out! Featuring the talented:
- D. Nurkse
- Tricia Taaca
- Mark Bibbins
- Brenda Iijima
- Amy King
- Ana Bozicevic
- Hanna Andrews
- David James Miller
You can also check the updated information for our edition at the event site here, to see links to the readers' work. And RSVP on Facebook here, if you'd like! You can see who's coming, I know how social relevance is important to you ;) ;) ;) J/K OR AM I?
The other thing that is happening is the InDigest reading at (Le) Poisson Rouge on Thursday the 29th (Facebook invite). I will be reading along with Nick Demske, Adam Fell, and Paul Legault. The reading is free, and in a beautiful venue. Thank you Dustin Luke Nelson (with whom I had the pleasure of reading at the poetry festival this summer)! <3 <3
